Perfecting The Art of Making Paint, Then and Now

With our new Green Leaf Initiative, Farrell-Calhoun is moving into the 21st century by providing environmental sustainability by producing the highest quality environmentally responsible paints. Green building is growing all over the world and most importantly, in the Mid-South. With our Green Leaf products, Farrell-Calhoun will minimize negative impacts on the environment while delivering superior quality. The Green Leaf Initiative is a green life cycle, from start to finish, of the Green Leaf products. We start with greener raw materials in our paints. We help the consumer pick the correct paint at the correct amounts to do their job right the first time. Then we educate the consumer on how to apply the coating correctly so as not to waste and then we encourage the consumer to either consult their Farrell-Calhoun representative or their local authorities as to how to dispose of any left-over paint or we inform them about any recycling effort that may be in their community. Our Green Leaf products have surpassed many other types of environmental certifications, are LEED compliant and are leading the way to a cleaner, safer environment.

Our company has also led the way in the paint and coatings industry in environmental cleanliness.

• We have zero waste production at our manufacturing facility. We recycle thinners and
wash water into usable solutions as well as recycling miss-tinted paints.

• We have implemented new processes in our manufacturing facility to become more
energy efficient and reduce greenhouse gases.

• We use natural ingredients in our paints derived from Linseed and Soybean oils among
many others.

• We help customers select the correct products for projects so that their projects are
completed correctly the first time to reduce frequent repainting.

• We encourage consumers to follow the Green Leaf Life Cycle with their painting activities.

• Our interior and exterior coatings clean very easily without removing the coating and
can be formulated to resist bacteria, mold and mildew growth, thereby improving the
indoor air quality.

• We are members of the National Paint and Coatings, Coatings Care Group.

• We have already reduced the VOCs in our coatings to meet the NESHAP and AIM EPA
Laws and we are continuing to reduce them even further.

• Our Green Leaf products meet or exceed the GS-11 Specifications for coatings used in
LEED certified buildings.

•  We are transitioning our fleet of vehicles to more fuel-efficient cars and trucks.

If you are interested in environmentally responsible paints that have outstanding performance properties, look for Farrell-Calhoun's Green Leaf Products. You can identify our premium quality, green coatings with our Green Leaf designation.
